About Me
I began my education as a Business Education major. Upon graduation, I decided to join the business world as an accountant instead of teaching. It took me 10 years to realize that what I truly wanted to do was teach. I went back to school and added Middle Grades Math and Language Arts to my certification. I currently hold certification in 9-12 Business Education and 4-8 Math, Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies. I also have the gifted endorsement. On a personal note, I love my kids, animals, and traveling.

Spring Place Elementary-Teacher
August 2016-Present
I am currently a 5th grade math teacher at Spring Place Elementary. I teach ESS, Gifted, ESOL, and regular education students. I serve as a mentor for new teachers and for student teachers from our local college. I am the 5th grade lead teacher and drive a bus route. One year I also taught a rotation of social studies.
Gladden Middle School-Teacher
August 2007-July 2016
Responsibilities included teaching ESS, Gifted, ESOL and regular education students in a 7th grade math classroom. I served on the leadership team as the 7th grade lead teacher. Other responsibilities included coaching softball and creating the school yearbook.
Bagley Middle School-Teacher
August 2001-July 2007
Responsiblities included teaching ESS, Gifted, ESOL and regular education students in a 7th grade math classroom. I served as the 7th grade team lead for 4 years. As team lead I was also responsible for scheduling student. For 3 years I also taught a rotation of reading.
Accountant
April 1992-August 2001
Responsibilities included accounts payable and accounts receivable, making international money transfers, assisting the controller with inventory and statement reconciliations.

Hiking
Finding myself in nature
My favorite thing to do is hike. Especially if I can find a waterfall on the hike. It provides me with peace and a chance to recharge. The views from tops of mountains are incredible.
